What
are StoryBook Albums?
The
StoryBook album is our specialty. Since the concept is a bit difficult
to explain verbally, please take a look at some real samples...
How
does this differ from a traditional album?
Traditional
albums were based on a selection of mats with one, two, or sometime
a few more "cut-outs" into which printed images were mounted.
Although the album companies tried to be creative, they could only
offer a limited number of variations, and most photographers stocked
only a small subset of those. This led to two things: (a) a very
limited number of images in an album, and (b) a rather repetitive
presentation.
We
will still create a "traditional" style album for you
if that's what you want, but we improve on it somewhat by eliminating
the mats and cut-outs. Instead, we create the traditional image
frames digitally within a flush mount album, using a consistent
page background color (often black or white).) This allows a greater
amount of creativity and customization since we are not restricted
to particular image sizes or placement.
Please
note that all parent albums are created in the traditional style.
