What
are StoryBook-style albums?
The
StoryBook album is our specialty. Since the concept is a bit difficult
to explain verbally, please take a look at some real samples...
As
you can see, every page is uniquely designed for the images it contains,
making every album unique. A typical storybook album will contain
many more images than the number of pages may suggest! The extra
level of artistry required for this albuum style reuqires that we
take artistic license in the album design. Before going to print,
we post the design briefly for your approval (up to five change
requests are permitted; additional changes are available for a per-page
change fee.)
How
does this differ from a traditional, template-style album?
Traditional
albums were based on a selection of mats with one, two, or sometime
a few more "cut-outs" into which printed images were mounted.
Although the album companies tried to be creative, they could only
offer a limited number of variations, and most photographers stocked
only a small subset of those. This led to two things: (a) a very
limited number of images in an album, and (b) a rather repetitive
presentation.
We
will still create a "traditional" style album for you
if that's what you want, but we improve on it somewhat by eliminating
the mats and cut-outs. Instead, we provide a small set of templates
which create the traditional image frames digitally within a flush
mount album. The page background color is consistent throughout,
and may include a subtle canvas or fabric pattern.
The
template album is designed by you -- by choosing a page template
from our provided set, and providing the image numbers and layout
plan.
Please
note that all parent albums are created in the template style.
